Q: What's your opinion with someone writing a book and only has a high school education?
I'm writing a short story.I was going to right a whole 400 page book or so...but I only have a high school education.Do you think I could actually get it published?Would the editors jump to conclusions and suppose I don't know anything and the book is worthless?Because I really don't want to waste a bunch of time on something that would just end up being a old folder on my computer.

A: It really depends on the genre. If its fiction novel sure first id read it, intresting = money. However if you are writing a documentation on the theory of quantum physics...i dont think so.

Q: What type of Medical School education is best??
I have the choice between a university with "Problem based learning" and one with the traditional medical school model. I cannot find what exactly a traditional medical school model is. Could anyone point me to a chart or table summarizing the key aspects of PBL in medical school Versus the traditional education style? Thanks!!

A: The traditional method of medical learning has been given a new label--Evidence Based Learning. Duke University has a good discussion about it: http://www.hsl.unc.edu/services/tutorials/ebm/welcome.htm Since you have the choice, I recommend going to the school that uses the PBL method. You'll learn more, you'll become a better physician and the NBME shelf exams and the USMLE Step exams use the PBL format.

In what year was the law passed making children forced to attend school and/or their parents responsible? Why? Where can I find information on the internet?

A: You need to tell us the state in which you live.

Q: What exactly is the school/education policy in the USA?
I'm looking for information on the school/education policies of the USA. in Germany, it's written out in our "constitution", how about in the States? Where can I find information on the topic? In more detail: My questions are, what are a students' rights/obligations? how is the school system built up? what rights/obligations/restrictions do teachers have? ...and more things like that; in essence, anything I can find on the subject.

A: In the US, there is no national standard. Each local school system sets its own policies. Within each state there are also different policies, which are enforced for the school systems in that state. So, to do your project, you would be better off focussing on one state, and then visiting the Department of Education for that state. Or, you could choose a local school system and visit the website for that. Local school systems can be County wide, or township wide, or city wide.

i was wondering if i could get a high school education (9-12) from a private tutor of some kind, instead of public or private school. thanks

Q: Should a High School Education be mandatory?
If students can't or won't finish high school they could be sent to a military school that would force them to finish school. Plus by sending these at risk youth to a military style school it would be taking them out of their environment and away from things that are stifling their education. Greshnab: Do really believe that people are adults when they are 16 years old? I don't. Personal freedom? Not having an education is taking away a persons freedom. Giving them one is empowering them!

A: Now that is a wonderful idea as far as I am concerned....If anyone cared anything at all about the welfare of our children, making it mandatory for them to complete an education would have appeared as if someone really cared about them.....This is a brilliant idea!
