Online education

A: There are several websites that you can visit that help you sort out schools based on your major. I often visit elearners.com. The business degree you have mentioned is being offered by American Intercontinental University Online, Kaplan University, University of Mary, University of Phoenix etc. The restaurant management degree is being offered by New England Culinary Institute etc. You can find complete information about these online institutions along with numerous others at http://www.onlineedublog.com/ All you need to do is go through the reviews of online schools on the site and then decide where you wish to enroll :) hope it helps!

Q: How can i know how effective online education is ?
I was kinda curious about taking classess online, but not sure how effective they are, please let me know.

A: Online classes can work for people who are very motivated, who don't need much direction from a professor, and who don't mind not having the interaction with others in a classroom. I teach some distance ed classes, and many students like it. The students who do tend to be students who are working and going to school at the same time, are older and have been out of school, and have specific vocational goals for the classes. Students in our traditional age program have not liked it as well, miss the interaction and social experience that is a growth experience in the traditional college age group. If you are taking classes on line try to take them at the best institution that you can. Try to take it at an established university or college that doesn't just do online classes (those that have a traditional campus as well as distance education) and make sure the college is regionally accredited (not just accredited by the Home Study or Distance Education Association, accreditation by whom does not give assurance that the college is considered the same as other colleges. When you are looking at an online program, ask the college what their graduation rate is and what their students do after they are graduated. So, the answer is more complex than yes or no. It depends on what you are looking for, what the type of school is, and what you are more comfortable with. Good luck!

Q: Attention Online Students! What was the biggest benifit of online education for you?
This is research for an actual online class. Any and all input you can provide will be appreciated.

A: Stayed away from all those rapists and immature boys that still have brains in their pants not in their heads. YAY!

Q: Has anyone actually put an online education to good use?
Just curious if these online courses are worth the time and money.

A: Please, don't do an online course!! Do it through a college or university, yes, you may have more time at home when you do an online course, but they're not particularly seen as a "good qualification", especially if you're thinking of doing a child care one online. Basically because you have no experience working with children, doing an online course writing about children's difficult behaviour is so, so different to actually handling that child's behaviour. If you apply for a nursery nurse job with an online qualification & another candidate has an NVQ3 and experience working in a setting, they will always be the preferred one. What's the course you're interested in?

Q: Is there a Free online education system in US offered to International students to get certification ?
If there are such Universities and educational organization please let me know the details of that Universities / Institutions. I am looking for MBA or any short term certifications that give valuable to my qualification.

A: mostly, nothing is free in the US, especially when it comes to education or certification, and even when things are free, they're usually for US citizens or those who qualify for support, but it depends what you're asking about. Sometimes organizations or work places will pay for people to get certified if it improves their work cause it helps the business. What kind of certification are you looking for?

Q: What college would let a 12 year old complete an online education with a certificate in vet assisting?
She has been home-schooled and on her end of year testing in most areas scored "12+" (12th grade and up). Other areas were scored above her grade for her age. Preferably the colege Courtney Oliver attended. Thank-you.

A: get names of some local community colleges that offer the certification -- good first source would be local vet offices. each college sets its own minimum age requirement, and it can differ for online vs on-campus. if you still have several years to wait, volunteer at an animal shelter, I did this starting in 8th grade in suburban Maryland back in the 1970's. I got to do everything except administer medication by injection.

Q: How should I list online education on my resume?
I just started on-line college courses. I'm not sure how to word that on my resume. Since I just started, should I just not list it?

A: Under the section headed Educational Qualifications, show the details of these courses that you are currently undertaking followed by all the others in chronological order, most recent to earliest.

Q: Do you feel like an online education is as good as a traditional one?
From an accredited State University that is.

A: No! I tutor some and its easier to have you within thumping distance...best teachers i had were the tough ones.
