Q: I would like to teach Early Childhood Education in NYC...where do I start?
I am aware that I have to take 3 exams..the LAST, CST, &ATSW... so far I have passed the LAST exam and have now registered for the other exams.
I am half way done with my master in early childhood education however I have no experience in teaching.
I realize that I have to be fingerprinted by the board of ed. but what do I have to do after?
A: the NYC dept of education website should give you all the information on requirements.
Also you can get some experience now by subbing or working as an aid.
Q: Does anyone in the NYC area knows where an ex felon can get free education?
I tired of dead end jobs and working for people who neither u or the work that u do for the company. I want to own and operate a business. I want to go to school to obtain my MBA or equivalent. Anyone with info on free or low cost schooling it would be greatly appreciated.
A: I tired of dead end jobs and working for people who neither u or the work that u do for the company.
What does the above sentence fragment mean?
You don't need an MBA to own and operate a company.
Find something to sell and sell it.
School only keeps you from your goal of owning a company and it certainly doesn't make any money, of course, maybe the goal is to not have to work only go to school.
School is hard work with no income. Do you want free schooling and someone to pay for your housing and food as well while you study?

Q: Education/Substitute Teaching (NYC public schools). I have my sublicense?
Education/Substitute Teaching (NYC public schools). I have my sublicense and ready to teach, However, I was wondering about the process. ( For K-5, are lesson plans left by the teacher. Any suggestions on lesson plans - if teacher does not leave lesson plan. Any other tips...
A: You can only hope there will be plans & a seating chart > both are equally important. The more organized teachers will have a sub folder or a sheet with a list to things to cover somewhere on their desk.
If not, get with a teacher who teaches the same grade level before the start of class & see if s/he has some idea where the teacher is presently at.
If nothing else, find a student that looks reasonably alert as they're coming in the class & ask to either see the homework they were supposed to do, or what s/he has learned so far.
If some classes, they will try to take advantage of you. Don't let that happen.
Good luck.
