Q: What is a fun and educational childrens activity?
I could really use some help here. I need to think of a 50 minute fun and educational program for children that focuses on one of these values: individuality, curiosity, having fun, love, teamwork, acceptance, good manners. If anyone can think of a fun and detailed children s activity I would appreciate it. this is for young underprivileged kids, ranging from first grade to fifth grade.

A: Board games like Trivial Pursuit, and Scrabble can be fun. Have a old fashioned "games party", each person bring a game that doesn't use electricity or batteries, and see what happens. Children can work in pairs, against another pair, with winners having most points as a "team effort". Chess and Checkers are old favorites too. Problem with many of the Electronic TV games is that there often is NO human interaction, you play against a computer. That's no fun, lol. And, what adults present should strive for is teaching how to be a good loser, as well as a winner. Winners should be encouraged to shake hands with the loser. Some youth sports teams also encourage sportsmanship too.

Q: What were the changes in the educational process during the industrial revolution?
I need to know all the changes that happened in Britain about the educational process

A: Free public education developed with compulsory education for a certain number of years. Previously education was only for the privileged classes and primarily for young men. In addition, attitudes shifted, based heavily on the teachings of Wesley (which many historians argue he is the reason there was no revolution in Britain even though conditions were very similar to those of France at the end of the 18th century). Wesley was a major proponent of compulsory universal education under the belief that it raised men out of ignorance and improved the social and cultural conditions of entire households. His Methodist faith preached that there was no purgatory nor was there a hell for those who suffered on earth. In his view of things, we could raise society to a higher level by improving the education of the average man and give him the tools to better provide for his family. We also saw the distribution of books through free public libraries, encouragement of book ownership, admittance of women into universities, institutionalized training for teachers, standardized curricula, etc.

Q: Is it safe to sent an educational manuscript to a publisher with out fear of piracy?
I have a manuscript I want to publish. It is educational for children and it is a new method of teaching. I have a fear this can be taken and published by someone else before mine recieves a copywrite. How can this be prevented?

A: This is what acclaimed author Dean Koontz has to say about these type of situations: "By law, a copyright registration can't be obtained for a book until it has been published. The publisher--a genuine publisher, not a subsidy publisher--will apply for the copyright in your name as part of its standard business practices. Some people will tell you to mail yourself a copy by registered mail, sign for it, and leave it in the sealed package as a form of "common-law copyright," but this is wasted effort and useless in court. Although I have known publishers who tweaked the royalty statements in their favor, I've never heard of one actually stealing a book or a book idea. It doesn't happen because it isn't worth the legal risks. (In Hollywood they steal as a matter of honor, the way gang members have to kill someone as an initiation, and they relish court fights. But publishing isn't like the film business.) Some writers type a copyright notice on their title pages, but this has no legal effect and in fact identifies the author as an amateur."

Q: What are some toys that are either educational or develop good hand eye cordination skills?
As weird as it might sound I actually have to design a toy for a 1st grade child for an upcoming school project. It has to be a toy that is either educational or develops hand eye cordination. I have a few ideas of what to do but if you could give me a few of yours it would be much appriciated. Thanks!

A: Buy a pack of 50 Dixie cups and have him build cup walls or castles - then let him crash it by driving a toy car through it. - concentration - balance - Patience - coordination - and it is a cheap toy , easy to store , when on gets smashed you just toss it

Q: What are some specific problems with our educational system today?
What do you think we need to propose on a change to our educational system?

Q: Where should we go for a good educational trip?
My class of around 15-25 students are planning on doing an educational trip/cultural trip that could involve visiting college campuses. We are high school soon to be seniors. We live in the dead center of Midwest United States. Does anyone have good ideas of where to go and what to do?

A: It's a bit of a ways away, but Washington, D.C. is a great place to go for an educational trip. I've been there a million times, and still I find it fun! There's the White House, the Capitol, all the congressional representatives' offices, the Library of Congress (which, I confess, my friends and I go to more for shopping than anything else! hehe), the Lincoln Memorial, Jefferson Memorial, Washington Monument, Arlington National Cemetary (just outside the city in Arlington, VA), and soooo many more things that I'm forgetting right now!

Q: What educational requirements d0 i need to own my own daycare?
i said it plain and simple. please do not ask me to look things up. either you know the answer or not. can anyone pleeease help me and let me know what educational requirements that I need to own/open MYY OWNN daycare.

A: I don't believe there are any educational requirements unfortunately that is why so many people who know nothing about children open daycares and then abuse the children. You have to get certified by the state. They will come to your home and see if you are equiped to handle a daycare. There are specific laws for each state and there has to be a certain amount of space per child ratio. You should have a fenced in yard if you are close to a road. I am not sure of all the necessities but they will tell you what you need to do or get when they come to your home. They will give you a certification number. It is illegal to have a home daycare without going through the state for a certification licence number.
