Q: Are there any jobs in education that do not require a teaching degree?
I have a BA in psychology. Any ideas on decent jobs in the education system that don't require a teaching certificate? Thanks!
A: A teacher's aide.
Q: Where can I find detailed information about social service jobs and education requirements needed for them?
I am getting ready to go back to school but I need to know what kind of degree I need to work towards and the different classes I need to sign up for. I would like to work in the social service field but I need more information on the types of jobs, their descriptions, how much they pay, etc. Any information you may have or websites I can go to will help. Thanks.
A: The degree depends on the type of social service you want to do. You can have personal financial counselors, therapists, family service counselors and more. You can find universites offering degrees in counseling, psychology, social work or closely related clinical fields. These would be your best bets.
Use the link below to find out about available jobs in your state. Some may require no degree, while other may require a masters. In any event, you will probably also see some salaries listed.
Q: According to Rasmussen Reports Most Voters Say Teachers' Unions More Focused On Jobs Than Education?
According to Rasmussen Reports Most Voters Say Teachers' Unions More Focused On Jobs Than Education
Where do you come down on this question?
A: I'm not sure I understand why teachers cannot or should not be focused on their jobs. I'm a teacher, and I work for a living. My doctor, mechanic, banker, etc. all work for a living, too. The living I earn helps me to support my family (well, mostly). I did not take a vow of poverty because I chose to become a teacher.
Florida is a right-to-work state, meaning unions are not allowed. Because of that, there is a high turnover in teaching. Just as teachers are getting good at their profession, they leave to pursue higher-paying jobs. This is one factor that lowers the quality of education in our state.
I realize that to non-educators in union states, unions drive up taxes because they demand higher pay for their members. My opinion is that even at the highest pay grade, teachers are seriously underpaid. The general public does not and cannot truly conceive what this job actually entails. We have an upside down economy in this country, where CEOs and bankers and wall street moguls, sports figures and movie stars earn extraordinary wealth, while people who improve or save lives - police, firemen, social workers, teachers, etc. - get paid the least.
Q: Why do so many illegals feel entitled to be in America and get free healthcare, education, and jobs?
I know American history better than you wish you could, Mike. There are laws here. They come here and break the law and expect everything. They can come and become legal citizens and pay taxes liek every other American. That is what being in America is about.
A: The United States of America represents the freest country in the world and the US government allows immigration of foreign nationals in whatever capacity. Immigration has a long history. And most people forget the fact that the REAL AMERICANS are the Indan tribes. If you are not from an American Indian tribe, you are not really a True American. the fact also is that th word AMERICAN applies to the whole continent of America (South and North America).
The immgrants made the USA a strong and powerful military, economic and spiritual nation. You can check your genealogy and family history and find out where your ancestors came from. The illegals are only doing what your great great grandfathers/motehrs have been been doing centuries ago. And now you are questioning the new illegals?
The Illegals are only illegals because the US government declared them to be so.
In fact, they have more inalienable rights than anyone else. Remember, the Mexicans used to own a large piece of what is known as the USA now(Claifornia, Texas, New Mexico, etc)
However, if illegals break the law, they should be granted their time in court. The easiest way to control illegals is to legitimize their stay and that would make them answer before a court of law, whatever laws and regualtions they break or commit. If they are lega resident aliens, then they are bound by law to obey the laws of the USA, including payment of taxes, and if they are tax payers they are entitled to the benefits - health, insurance etc. If found guilty beyeong any reasonable doubt, then and only then can they be deported to their original country of origin.
Let's face the facts by political researchers: The persistent myth that immigrants are more prone to criminality than the native-born continues to circulate among politicians, commentators, and the public despite a century’s worth of contrary evidence (see IPC’s Immigrants and Crime: Are They Connected?, December 2007). Recent data from New Jersey and California once again confirm what researchers have found repeatedly over the past 100 years: immigrants are less likely than the native-born to be in prison, and high rates of immigration are not associated with higher rates of crime.
Nationally, Immigrants are Five Times Less Likely to be in Prison Than the Native-Born
𐂾
A 2007 study by University of California, Irvine, sociologist Rubén G. Rumbaut found that the 3.5 percent incarceration rate for native-born men age 18-39 was five times higher than the 0.7 percent rate for immigrant men in 2000.
𐂾
Among native-born male high-school dropouts, 9.8 percent were behind bars in 2000, compared to only 1.3 percent of immigrant dropouts.
Q: Why is Obama pushing for more education? What jobs are we educating the public for when there are a lot of?
college educated people out there who are unemployed.
A: Probably computers. Since I am a computer professional, I see it a lot, schools pumping out new graduates left and right. Computers arent going anywhere. That, healthcare, and housing industries are what he is pushing.
Q: Does anyone have any information on getting International jobs? (education, ways to apply etc.)?
I'm currently in high school, but I am looking to go into a field of work that deals with any international affairs. I was wondering if anyone had any tips on what to take in University, and how I should go about applying to these organizations. Thanks, I hope you can help, and any information is greatly appreciated!
A: As for the school part you should look at a degree that involves international business and at least one foreign language. Though a language is not 100% responsible for where you can go it does play a role, just keep in mind that several of the major languages are used in more than just the main countries that you normally apply them to. French is a greatexample as it is used throughout Africa.
Taking history courses covering a certain geographic area the pairs with your language would make you much more marketable to a company wanting someone who knows about the area they are being sent to.
Many companies have international operations that you can work in. Lockheed Martin or Haliburton both own a substantial amount of smaller companies that operate world-wide. The state department, CIA, DIA also have postings in nearly every country.
You may also want to look into other fields of study that would be geared more towards your passion while giving you the chance to work over-seas. Most of the companies will also use computer and electronic technicians in their businesses overseas.
Q: What states have the most jobs available elementry education?
I was told there is a website or study that breaks down where there is demand for teaching jobs and by each subject in each state. Anyone know of this?
A: These websites offer lots of info on teaching, a breakdown of salary, job description and the first website you can check out shortage areas in each state. Now is a great time to be a teacher, especially for math, science and special education. GOOD LUCK!
Q: How many ways are there to find jobs in education?
i've tried cover letters attached with c.v but no reply. tried joinin agency but website f****d and askin for details i dont have. please help!!!
A: it all depends on what kind of job you want and what your qulaifications are really.
Most jobs in education are advertised and then you apply so doesnt work to just sendof cv etc if thats what you have done.
Look at the job description and then tailor the letter to that. Also always use black ink
Q: do jobs ever really check your education?
I've gone on many job interviews and they never seem to check my references nor my college education. I know of 5 people who have paid for fake transcripts and have been using them for years to obtain jobs, yet they have never graduated from college. I wonder if maybe I just wasted my 40,000 paying for college when I could just paid $200 to get some fake transcripts.
A: Many jobs don't check. Many people do get away with fake degrees or even lying out right.
That said, many people do get caught and it's usually at the worst possible time. It comes when they get some sort of recognition or award or promotion. The usual result is public embarrassment (a newspaper story about how John Doe lied about his education) and immediate dismissal.
There are a couple states that have laws about this. Oregon is pretty strict. Many states are following their lead. In those cases, the worst thing that can happen is you go to jail for fraud. I'd not want to explain to my new jail buddies that my crime was lying about going to college...
Seems to me, it's just not worth it. Besides, I've learned a lot of cool stuff in college over the years - way more than I paid for.
