Q: How many more years of education would I have to complete to become a psychiatrist?
I am currently a special education teacher. My specialization is children with behavior and emotional disoders. I have a completed my bachelors in special education and will soon complete my masters degree in special education. I want to become a psychiatrist and wanted to know would I have to go backwards and get a bachelors in medicine? How may more years would this take me to complete?

A: You need to go to medical school and specialize in psychiatry, which means you need to take undergraduate pre-med requirements (which will take two semesters of full time study) and then of course, the MCATS and apply to medical school. How long does med school take? Look it up! Instead, you may decide that rather than throwing pills at children, since all psychiatrists really do is dispense medications(realistically rather than ideally), you may want to become a psychotherapist or psychologist. This will require less schooling because you can apply to do a PhD in practicing clinical psychology and given your background this may only take an additional 2 years.

Q: How does an education background check work?
I am up for a position and they are in the process of running different background checks on me. The one that concerns me is the education background check. I am exactly one class shy of earning the BS degree that I claimed on my CV. I walked during graduation and everything, but I never got the *incomplete* for that class cleared up and, hence, never completely fulfilled my graduation requirements. In an education background check, do companies verify that you have the degree or just that you attended the university during the dates you claimed? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

A: An education verification typically will verify the highest level of degree obtained. If you did not actually graduate, then it will be reported as such. Many colleges and universities have chosen to outsource their verifications to a third party, so the background screening company usually does not even talk to the school to find any additional information. I would suggest clearing this up. As a follow up, there are fewer companies that verify education backgrounds then criminal backgrounds.

Q: How will executive education change in the next 5-10 years?
Will office workers and executives of the future sit in classrooms to get their executive education? Will it be delivered through Second Life or another virtual world? What role will Web 2.0 technologies play in executive education? Will we get our training through mobile phones? Will we train each other, through Wikis and similar technologies? If you are 20-25 years old now, or have experience of this, please let me know what you think about this. Thanks!

A: i think it will be alot more computer based alot more of it will deal with other countries since we are gradually becoming more globalized -it wont be thru cell phones or virtual world although those will still be developing the best education will still come thru experienced teachers- the gadgets are just a plus

Q: What is your education level and what kind of degree do you hold?
I am curious about the education level of people on Yahoo answers, especially in the business section. Would you please tell me your education level and the type of degree you hold. For example, I have a Bachelor of Sceience in Business Administration with an emphasis in Strategic management and I am almost finished (March 2008) with my MBA. I am just curious to see how many people hold college or graduate degrees.

A: Bachelor's in Business Administration for Business Management. I just started my MBA and will finish November 9, 2009.

Q: What education do I need to become an Apartment Manager?
My Father is looking into buying about 15-20 apartments. He would like for me to get an education in order to become a large part of running the complex. It's an investing opportunity, and my father honestly doesn't know anything about it himself, so he's basically counting on me to do it all. I am very interested though.

A: In the case of the apartment building I used to live in, a third grade education was sufficient for the manager.

Q: How is spending money in education going to help the economy?
Most of the money in the stimulus packages is going to education how does that help the economy?

A: How much of that money is converted into resources that actually benefit the students? Or does the bulk of it simply fuel the inept, harmful and self-serving teachers' unions? My guess is the latter and those circumstances are consistentt with the liberals' ideas of stimulating the economy

Q: What education is required to become a personal trainer?
I am interested in perhaps working at a gym, or eventually starting my own. I do not want to sell fitness memberships, charging poor folks $800 for some premium package deal and lying to them about their fitness level. I really want to help people become healthy and happy. I don't really want to teach group yoga or something. I want to help people on an individual level as a personal fitness trainer. What education does it require and where would I be eligible to work? Please help. Thanks.

Q: What education or training is best to learn stock trade?
I want to learn to trade stocks, do I need a certificate? What is the best way to learn to trade stocks? Do I need a formal education or can I do this on my own? I am deciding on a college? If you think college is best, which degree program?

A: Simple- open up an account. You pay for each trade that you make too. Well, you have to pay in general. Scottrade or Ameritrade are servers that offer stock trading. You need money though to buy stocks, sell them, and short them (for me the MOST important and MOST difficult). Don't need a certificate. Go do it on your own, business school teaches you this stuff but I saw from my dad that he learned it on his own completely. Go to investopedia.com to learn about the vocabulary. For college, they don't teach you ONLY this stuff. You have to take a lot of other courses so you can't exactly focus on just stocks. Mutual funds and bonds are involved too. All of this is called "investing" lol. Stock brokers might let you intern with them if you show them that you know something.

Q: What education is needed to be a radiology nurse?
What does the job entail, salary, description? I am trying to find a nurse specialty and someone meantioned it but I'm not positive what exactly the job calls for especially education wise.

A: The other answerers are incorrect. It's a specialty of nursing. You don't go through radiology school. "The larger medical centers may employ a radiological nurse who provides for the physical, mental, and emotional needs of the patient who is undergoing tests or treatment in a radiology department. The radiological nurse usually develops and manages a care plan to help patients understand procedures and, later, recuperate from the procedures. This may also include working with a patient's family. The nurse can perform examinations or carry out preventive health measures within the prescribed guidelines and instructions of the radiologist. In addition, the nurse can record physician findings and discuss cases with either the radiologist or other health care professionals. Often, a radiological nurse will assist during examinations or therapy. Radiological nurses must have graduated from an accredited nursing school. Each nurse must also pass a national licensing examination."

Q: What is the best way to overhaul the education system?
In a world where technology has created a fast paced global world, we seem to have forgotten to bring the education system up to date. We are teaching 21st century generations, with a 19th/20th century system. I pose we create a whole new state of the art 21st century system to teach on a global nature. Teaching all cultures and language, the business world is now global so should the education be. I strongly believe if we teach culture, it will also bring world peace. As it will be teaching understanding, tolorance, and communication. If we want to give our kids half a chance as well as keep our country strong, we have to build a strong foundation, the way you do that is create a state of the art education system, to educate the next generation, the generation that will be responsible for our nation. Every child needs a safe clean place to learn. I am working on an out line and welcome input. I am calling it education for world peace. I also hope it will fix the homeless problem.

A: If you don't trust the education system, just don't send your kids there... you don't need to cripple/alter the bad system. Let it extinct itself....
