I'm a senior and i live in VA and i want to attend a top rated college or university. I have searched the internet, but i want some personal reports.
A: Brown University in Rhode Island. (it's and IVY league)
Rhode Island College
Providence College (In Rhode Island)
Q: How much does it cost to board at University colleges in melbourne?
A: Its very expensive because there is such high demand. I lived at LTU in 2005 and it worked out to be about 170pw and in most cases payment has to be made up front each semester. I could only imagine how expensive it would be now with rent prices in Melbourne increasing so much.
Contact the university about other forms of accommodation, there are often other houses/flats owned by the uni that are a little bit further away but still convenient. Also have a wander about campus as there are usually heaps of ads/posters up for people looking for housemates, which is one of the cheapest way for students to live.
Q: Know any good colleges/University's with a good Nursing program?
Know any good colleges/University's with a good Nursing program in NJ or anywhere near NJ, like Pennsylvania

- Whoops, sorry! I got too excited and didnt read the NJ part...= ( my fault.
Q: Do CSU and UC school high school standards apply to private university's and colleges?
I am a Junior High School student in California and have not taking the required classes to get into a UC or CSU and most likely will not are the same requirements required at a private University or college as that of a public University in California?
A: CC is right. Usually the requirements are similar, but the standards for a private University are usually higher. Go to summer school or go to a community college first if your heart is set on going to college. (And I highly, HIGHLY recommend college - it's great.)
Q: What university or colleges in your state are very popular, prestigous or esteemed?

Q: Does anybody know any colleges/universities similar to the University of Santa Cruz?
I'm looking out for colleges that have the laid-back, artsty, liberal atmosphere like UCSC, and apparently, only wanting to go to one college isn't enough.
A: Definitely Humboldt State University. I'm going to UCSC in the fall and I just helped my brother move into Humboldt and I'd have to say they are really really really really similar. There are just as many hippies walking around and the school is surrounded by redwoods. They also have a lot of banana slugs up there too.
Q: What are some good community and university colleges in Orlando?
A: I like Seminole Community College and Valencia Community College. I think I would prefer Valencia but Seminole was closer to me and I got my degree from there. I did take classes at Valencia though at the campus off of west 50, and it is a nice school.
UCF of course is located over in East Orlando, I'm sure you know about that one. Full Sail University is another option but be prepared to pay a bundle. My son goes there and loves it. He is going for recording arts. They have some interesting degrees but again, very costly.
Q: What are some great colleges/university's to go to if u want to specialize in the musical arts?
Im in highschool in NY, and im jus trying to look and see what some great music schools are, they dont have to be in NY. In school now i play flute, and im the youngest player in my varsity band, also im in chorus, and im trying to presute a carreer as a college music professor. wat college would be good for me?
A: It all depends on what area of musical arts you're wanting to go into. Many universities recommend that you have at least a doctorate degree to teach at the university level. Many of the professors have doctoral degrees and YEARS of professional level experience in music performance or education.
Some areas of Music to consider
Education
Performance
Music Therapy
Business
Pedagogy
Opera/Music Theater
Instrument repair (which technically, you would go to a trade school for).
What college would work for you? That's only a question that you can answer once you've checked out your top candidates. There are MANY good universities with really good music programs. You just have to search for them, vist them, talk to the professors, and submit your audition repretory. Most schools only offer Bachelor and Master degree programs in Music, but some places do offer doctoral level degree that you could complete to find a job as a university professor.
So, in no particular order, here's some schools to check out. By no means is this a complete list.
Julliard
Manhattan School of Music
NYU
Eastman
Ithica College
Brevard
Carnegie-Mellon
Florida State University
Rice University
University of North Texas
University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana
Roosevelt University-College of Performing Arts
DePaul University
University of Indiana-Bloomington
University of Colorado at Boulder
Illinois State University
University of Memphis
University of California
What I'd STRONGLY suggest is to also talk with your teacher about your thoughts for college. He/she might be able to help you in finding a good university flute professor with you. Try attending masterclasses, performances, and taking a lesson or two with a professor that you're interested in studying with. Or better yet, go to a summer flute camp, if they're hosting one. This will give you a GREAT opportunity to work with the professor and see if the two of you would be a good match. It's also a good idea to have an "A" and "B" list of schools to attend. The "A" list being your top choices, and the B list being your good "runner up." That way, you will have a better choice in determining which school will best suit your personal needs.
Good luck!
Q: Do all university and colleges in have guy's locker rooms where everyone showers naked?
Or does this happen only in community colleges? Is this only in America? I can't help but try it myself lol. Maybe I'll go to college only for this reason lol. What about in the UK?
A: I'm still in high school, but I think this is pretty common around the world. But I have heard that a lot of colleges are building their newer dorms with semi-private showers because so many people are going to college these days with no experience showering in front of each other, and they are freaked out by it.
Lots of high schools don't require showers these days. And from your question I guess yours didn't or this wouldn't be a big deal for you. You get used to it really fast.
