Q: What southern college/university offers the best English department?
I've heard mainly Auburn, Emory, and UNC... but I can't be sure. I'm looking for the best English department in the old Confederacy, pretty much. Anyone?
Any sources there, bud?
A: University of Georgia
www.uga.edu

I was gonna take a vacation to southern cali this summer, and i wanted to know a few colleges that i should visit in particular. instead of just going, and checking out the whole area...
A: UC Berkeley... you can tell it's good in computer science and programming when it's crawling with Asian geniuses!
Q: What college should I go to, The College of William and Mary in Virginia or Pomona College in Southern CA?
I am from Southern California, and would kind of like to get out of town. But Pomona does have better academics. But i am also looking for the school with good name recognition. So any advice you could give that would give me any guidence would be greatly apreciated.
By the way don't be one of those jerks that says something along the lines of you should make the decision for yourself or some other self riches bull.
A: Dear Young Brit, academically William and Mary is a famous well known school. Pomona College, PLEASE when you go for a job interview with a fortune 500 company they will say "where"! Besides college is a utopia and an invaluable growing experience away from home. I truly believe every kid should experience college for the fact that it is the first step to leaving the nest. Trust me, your parents will be so proud of you. Oh yes, and you will hear "it's so far away" that's the point kid. Being away from Mom and Dad with tons of other college kids is the beginning of your fun adult life. Any one who went to college will tell you it is the best time of your life.
Q: What's the best college for Japanese majors, preferably in Southern California?
I've got two more semesters left at the community college I attend, Cypress College, which has an awesome Japanese program IMO. I'm looking at where I should transfer, and I'd like opinions. I'd prefer to stay in Southern California, but am open to suggestions. Looking for universities with strong Japanese BA programs--thoughts?
A: Well So Cal has some great Japanese langauge programs. The program I would recommend that is probably the best, but its just my opinion, is UCLA. They have a strong Japanese program in that there are a lot of well known scholars who teach a variety of subjects about Japan. Also the Japanese collection in the library is very good.
A close second and third would be perhaps UCSB or UCSD. If you have to choose between a CSU or UC choose the UC as the Japanese program will be better since it is more focused on the research aspect.
I hope this helps
Q: Which college should I attend in Southern California?
I currently live in ohio, but plan to move to southern california in the fall of 2008. I plan on pursuing a career as an actor, and want to attend either Santa Monica College or Santa Barbara City College. After that I want to transfer to a school that has a superb acting program. What community college should I attend and what 4 year school should I attend in southern California to pursue my career as an actor?
A: I'm not so sure about acting, but I know USC and UCLA have excellent film programs (probably the best in Southern California) so I'm assuming their theater/acting programs are probably decent as well. As far as community colleges to attend, I have heard that Santa Monica College sends a lot of students to UCLA as transfers. You should also check out Cal Arts (California Institute of the Arts) in Valencia which also has a very good reputation for Film and Acting.
Q: What is a good college/university in southern California to attend for graphic design/illustration?
I've been taking classes at a community college but I think I'd like to go for the whole bachelor degree. Which schools are good in that field?
A: Cal Arts is excellent. So is Art Center College of Design in Pasadena.
Otherwise, you may want to consider getting your art degree at a CSU or UC (CSUN, CSULA, UCLA, UCSB, UCI, UCR, CSUSB, CSUF, CSULB, etc...). The schools around So Cal are not focused so much on art, nor are they well-known for it. But you will earn a BFA from a generally reputable school for cheap. The aforementioned art schools have very high tuition.
Q: Is there a college in southern california for motorcycle mechanic?
and what is there salary range?
A: Like ChprChpstr said, MMI in PHX is the way to go if you’re serious. I have friends that have graduated from there, and I have a Bro in there right know. I've been there and it's real nice. Do yourself a favor and check it out. If you do well there you might see decent pay. I like working on bikes but my own and real close friends to help them out.

Q: What college in the southern area is better to pursue Anesthesiology?
I just graduated from high school and my plans are to further my education and become an anesthesiologist. But im having difficulty finding the best school for me to attend. It would be a great pleasure if i could get any genuine suggestions.
A: You don't train in anesthesia until you have FINISHED medical school.
Any accredited 4 yr college is fine for your undergraduate studies, and you can major in anything you want.
Choose a school based on your preferred location and major, and what you can afford. The important thing is to take all the med school pre-req courses and really LEARN that stuff so you can do well on the MCAT. Keep your college GPA > 3.7
If you get into med school, you'll probably change your area of interest. Most of us did.
