Q: What are some good colleges in Ohio for English majors?
I'm a high school junior hoping to major in English once I get to college, and I'm looking at schools in the Ohio area. I know the most common colleges to apply to are Ohio State, Miami, and Ohio Wesleyan, but are there any other colleges out there with good English programs that are maybe lesser known?
I'm just looking to make more options for myself, so any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
A: Try Oberlin, Denison or Hiram.
My Brother-in-law graduated from Bowling Green just a few years ago and is now Director of Communications for a nursing school at a private college... Pretty nice career arc.
Q: What are some good veterinarian colleges in ohio?
I would like to be a large animal vet, and i'm having trouble finding some colleges other than ohio state, and brown mackie college.
A: First of all Brown mackie college is NOT a vet school.
Ohio State is the only vet school in Ohio. There are only 28 in the US and you're lucky to have one in your state.
Here is a website that will tell you the other 27.

Q: What Ohio colleges have good history programs?
which colleges in ohio have good programs to major in history...like in order to become history teacher/professor
A: Ohio State actually has a great history program - they do not have a teacher education program for undergraduates, but you have to have a Masters Degree to teach in Ohio now anyway, and a BA in history from OSU should get you into their MEd program or those at Capitol, Otterbein, etc. in Columbus. The great thing about history at OSU is that because of the size of the program you will have the opportunity to take classes on a wide variety of subjects from people with amazing research and travel backgrounds. American history is particularly strong, but it's tough to go wrong with any concentration at OSU! You can read more about the programs offered at history.osu.edu - good luck!
Q: What Ohio Colleges offer women's bowling?
I would like to go to a college that offers bowling because I'm hoping to get scholarships from bowling to pay for it. Although every time I look it up all that comes up is Bowling Green. Any suggestions?
A: i know union college does
hope that helps =)
Q: What are the top 10 ranked colleges in Ohio?
I can't seem to find it anywhere!
A: Ohio State
Q: What are good Ohio colleges?
I am looking for schools strong in science (considering medicine) and that can give me $$. (I am an Ohio resident).
Any suggestions?
I got a 35 on my ACT composite and have higher than a 4.0 GPA.
A: You could probably go to Ohio St. for free, although big publics tend to focus more on graduate than undergraduate education. Case Western, Oberlin, Kenyon, and Wooster are all decent schools but a.) if you're looking for in-state tuition, they're all private (which is where I would suggest you look anyway with your academic credentials) and b.) none of them really jump out at me as being "great", nationally renowned schools in the way that Harvard, Stanford, or Notre Dame are.
Q: Colleges for Radiology with in Michigan and Ohio?
Ok I am a Soph. in High School. My parents want me to start thinking about what I would like to major in, in College. I thought about majoring in Computers but I am now deciding that a Radiologist would make a little more money. Well anyways do you know any Colleges/Universities within Michigan or Ohio where I could look into for this field? Thanks alot.
What about a X-Ray Tech?
A: A radiologist is a doctor.
I assume you are talking about a radiologic technologist (the correct term for x-ray tech). You can find accredited schools here (choose Radiography, schools are listed by state): http://arrt.org/index.html?content=http://www.arrt.org/nd/listOfSchools.ndm/listSchools&iframe=yes
You can find more information here: https://www.asrt.org:/content/abouttheprofession/_AboutTheProfession.aspx
Q: Are there any reputable colleges in ohio strictly pertaining to herbology or the like?
A: Caine S, The best way to find out info is to find a student. You can find some contact information for Ohio colleges here. http://www.collegereviewed.com/Ohio-Colleges-Universities.html Students always to know what's going on better than outsiders since they get to experience the classes and the lifestyle.
Q: What are the best colleges in ohio for future lawyers?
A: University of Cincinnati has a good law school:)
Q: What are some good colleges in Ohio?
I searched online and I didn't get much.
A: While their lists are very comprehensive, I feel that you should decide on what type of environment you would want the college to be in. (I must add Otterbein to their lists)
For example, Ohio State is one of the largest universities in the US with over 50,000 students. The middle group is Miami University with 15,000. And the small, with Hiram, University of Findlay (and many more) with approx. 2,000.
There are a lot of choices, but it seems like the more popular, prestigious schools are:
1. Ohio State, Columbus (obvious choice, Fisher school of business is one of the top, excellent sports and nightlife. can be a bit distracting if trying to study.)
2. Miami University, Oxford (public ivy that is consistently on national rakings, outside of Cincinnati but beautiful campus. Business, art and liberal sciences focus.)
3. University of Cincinnati (I would be wary of the surroundings if you're a girl, it's not in the best area of Cincinnati. A lot of violence.)
4. Ohio University, Athens (much like Miami, similar size and academics. OU is known for it's massive Halloween party each year. They have a great journalism program that's nationally recognized)
5. Bowling Green, Bowling Green (in the middle of no-where. literally. Education program is one of the best in the nation)
6. Case Western, Cleveland (great school, focus on engineering and the hard-sciences)
I know there are many smaller ones that I left off this list, but if you want to learn more about them, just Google the name and go to their website. Colleges would love to have you visit them and understand their atmosphere.
-word of the wise. look at the U.S. news and college rankings.
while peterson.com is a good resource to have, you can't fully depend on it.
good luck.
Q: i want to go into advertising does any one know any good colleges in ohio for it?
i want a career in advertising ...what is the highest you can go in degree's for that?
A: Advertising is not a major. Or at least not a standard major. You'd have to go to a school that either specializes in this (don't know any) or build a minor in this somehow by working with another department. I'd start off in sociology, psychology, business or economics.
The Ohio State University comes to mind, but there are many other schools in Ohio.
Q: Do any colleges in ohio offer Folklore as a major or at least courses of this topic?
A: I would go to collegeboard.com and run a search and then double check any universities that come up to be sure.
Q: What are some top teaching colleges in Ohio?
I was talking with someone today and she informed me that the school she 's going to has the best teacher program in the state, WV). I was curious what college in Ohio had the best teacher program?
Thanks
A: GO ON GOOGLE THEY HAVE A LONG LIST OF THEM
Q: Do colleges outside of ohio accept PSEO credits?
I want to go to school in either New York or DC and was wondering if colleges out of state will allow me to transfer my credits.
A: Mathew D, The best way to find out info is to contact a student. You can find some contact information for Ohio colleges here. http://www.collegereviewed.com/Ohio-Colleges-Universities.html The students always seem to know what's up since they spend so much time on campus.
