Q: What is your profession, education level, colleges, and does that effect what religion you are?
I am a musician and an educator, I have a bachelor's and master's degree, both from small State Universities, and I think the experiences I've had have lead me to my chosen religion, Thelema. If I'd of gone to Private religious Universities, or was an Engineer I don't think I would have had the same questions, nor found the same answers I did.
A: I am an editor --currently of one of the 4 leading journals on clinical infectious disease medicine in America. I have a bachelor's degree in fine art but was mentored on-the-job to become a medical news journalist, writer, and editor about 20 years ago, and it became my profession. I had an interest in spirituality and philosophy from a young age and ultimately became interested in eastern religion, philosophy, and mysticism (beginning about 30 years ago). About 5 years ago, I developed an interest in western esotericism (ie, Hermeticism, Neoplatonism, Gnosticism)) and occultism (ie, magick), which developed into an interest in post-modern magick. My interests in eastern spirituality led to my interest in western occultism. My background in clinical medicine, particularly background in neuropsychiatry (I had been the editor of a few small psychiatric journals and also the editor of monthly journal on neurology), influenced my leanings toward a kind of spiritual existentialism in relation to eastern mysticism and also my interest in post-modern magick.
Q: What is your response for colleges that require physical education as a basic?
I am writing a paper arguing whether or not college and universities should require physical education. Are there any students who attend a school that does require this? If so, what do you think about it?
A: My school requires a Phys Ed lecture as well as two "labs" Each lab only lasts half of a semester, but you have to take all three in the same semester. It makes scheduling important classes VERY difficult, and most of the labs they offer require you to already be in star athlete condition in order to pass.
I think it's ridiculous because, I take good care of myself without the aid of a PE class. I exercise on a regular basis, and eat fairly well considering I'm a college student. Yeah I'm not the most physically fit person in the world, but college students have better things to do than run stairs for an hour or two every other night when they could be studying for their future, making lasting friendships, or simply reading a good book. But this is all my opinion, so take it with a grain of salt... : )

i want to become a special education teacher for high school and i was wondering what colleges are the best to go to and what should i major in. Im only in 10th grade but im curios. =] thanks for the help!
A: I wish I knew where you live. Cal State Los Angeles has a nice program. If you want fun in the sun, Florida Gulf Coast University has a great program. Even better South Florida University has a behavior analyst program that is absolutely fantastic. It is fascinating!

Q: What are the best colleges for music education?
By music education I mean that I want to become a director/teacher at some point. I know that schools like Julliard are good for performance and such but they don't have education degrees.
A: "Michigan State University has one of the leading music education programs in the United States. According to U.S. News and World Report, MSU has been the number one ranked college in the United States for teacher education for 10 years in a row (1995 - 2004). Graduates from MSU's music education program have successful careers and have risen to leadership positions at the elementary, secondary, and collegiate levels."

Q: Does anyone know where I can find colleges with religious education?
I want to be a religion teacher but collgese are hard to find for that, and my current university doesn't offer religious education.
Is there a website I can look at?
AND
Do you have to major in religious education to be a religion teacher?
A: What kind of religion teacher do you want to be?
If you are interested in focusing on a specific Religion (for example, Catholicism or Judaism) and teaching that religion, you might want to major in Education and minor in that religion. You can get hired by private religious affiliated schools to teach this and you are often not required to have teaching certification for private schools.
If you're interested in comparative religion (studying all religions and how they differ from each other), you are going to have a hard time finding a job in schools. You may want to focus on getting a degree in religion and becoming a college professor.
