Q: Can I transfer Degrees between colleges?
As In:
I'm majoring in International Business.
I go to a Community College (Tarrant Community College) For 1-2 years. Can someone help me because I don't know if I should go for 1 or 2. What's the difference?
Transfer to Stephen F Austin University and get a Bachelor's Degree.
Then Transfer to University of Texas at Arlington to get a Master's Degree.
Can that work? Or are there other colleges in Texas that offer Master's in International Business.
A: If you're starting at community college to save money, and you could have gone straight to a 4-year college/university, then it doesn't matter when you transfer. If you're starting there because you don't have the grades in high school to get into the schools you want to attend, you'll have to stay for 2 years just to have enough grades from community college to prove to the other schools you can handle the work.
Yes, you can go to AU for the bachelors and UTA for the masters. It's not transferring to go from bachelors to masters - you finish one program and apply to the next, just like high school to college.
Q: What colleges/universities have degrees for Criminal Psychology?
I am interested in getting a degree in Criminal Psychology but I can't find a school with the degree.
A: Here's a list: http://psychweb.cisat.jmu.edu/spcp/education.htm
Q: does anyone know what colleges offer degrees in phorensic science?
Is medical school involved for this? I'm interested in the phorensic crime. you like csI.
A: Next time search for forensic..
Q: Anyone know of any New England colleges that offer degrees in 3D modelling and animation?
I live in central Maine and I want to go to school for 3D modelling and/or animation but the closest one I've found is somewhere in Florida. Does anyone know of any schools in the New England area? If not, what would be the closest?
A: For animation, you want to study at the best art school that you can. And there are lots of those in the New England area. Those that offer animation (and you can focus on 3D animation within the broader animation field) or computer animation are:
- Rhode Island School of Design
- Mass Art
- Maine College of Art
- Boston University
- Suffolk University (New England School of Art & Design)
And check if University of Maine offers anything. They might. Likewise UNH and UMass Amherst. Those schools do have art majors, and they do have some computer art classes, but I don't remember, offhand, if you can focus on 3D animation.
If you're willing to go further from home, you can find programs at:
- NYU
- Parsons
- Pratt
- School of Visual Arts
- Syracuse
- Rochester Institute of Technology
- Rensselaer Polytechnic
Sometimes, to find this major, you have to look under either animation, or under media/film. So if you broaden your search beyond the specifics of 3D animation, and find programs in animation or media/film, check each program specifically to see if they offer 3D animation specifically. So start broader, then get narrow. Don't start so narrow.
Try to avoid tech schools or career colleges. I'm not loving that one in Florida, btw.
Q: Are degrees from black colleges easier to obtain? Degrees from black colleges are valued by employers?
I'm just curious. Are the degrees from black colleges (historically black colleges) easier to obtain than degrees from the regular colleges? It would be nice if they didn't require you to take pointless classes just to accumolate 120 college credits. If employers are impressed with degrees from universities such as "Harvard, Yale, and Princeton," how do they feel about degrees from black colleges? Do they check what type of college the degree is from when they do a background check? Would employers be turned off about people who segregate themselves like that.
Unsure where to post the question so I'll post it here (in education maybe?).
A: Private colleges are, in general, much easier academically than public colleges/universities. I went to both and let me tell you, you pay less for public but you do so much more work. Also my friend started out at UCLA (public) and then transferred to USC (private) b/c UCLA was kicking her butt! It is well known that USC is academically much easier than UCLA. She went from a 3.0 grade point average to an perfect 4.0 ever since she transferred.
Employers will definitely look at what colleges you've attended and it's going to depend on the employers themselves on how they perceive black colleges.
Regarding black colleges, they are not comparable to Harvard or Yale. I see them more like small private colleges and they are more known for liberal arts than hardcore science or math.
Q: What are some names of colleges and universitys that award associates degrees?
What are some names of colleges and universitys that award associates degrees?
A: When I went to law school at Southern Illinois, I found some things that seemed a little strange. One of them is that SIU has a techical college that grants, or at least used to grant, associates degrees and certificates. SIU has had some problems with keeping the funding for this school, as many state legislators believe that the purpose of the tech college has been replaced with the community college and junior college. Nonetheless, SIU continues to provide some associates level programs, many of which have been expanded to include now bachelor's degrees directed not only for SIU associates degree students, but transfers from other community colleges.
Otherwise, many community college vocational type programs (paralegal, secretarial skills, dental hygiene, aviation, automotive tech, etc.) would have nowhere for bachelors degrees. SIU's drafting program from the tech school has expanded to a full bachelor's in architecture, and a masters is being started in architecture...
Q: Where can i find a list of colleges offering forestry degrees?
Undergraduate, graduate or postgraduate degrees in forestry or fire prevention and safety? Thanks in advance
A: Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches, TX offers an undergraduate degree in Forestry. They may offer a graduate degree also and they could most likely tell you how to obtain the list you want.
Q: Is there a website to find what particular colleges offer for degrees?
I want to search by the degree.
A: www.princetonreview.com
they have a list of business schools, medical, social sciences, etc. and the highest level of degrees offered.
Or you can go directly to the website of the schools you're interested in and search on the academic programs.
good luck
Q: What are the best colleges for degrees in political science/ government?
any state, religious association, or requirements
A: Princeton has a great track record in this area. Georgetown is where a lot of movers and shakers went.
Q: What are some small colleges with Pediatrics Degrees as majors in California, United States?
I am a freshman in high school and I was wondering and I have tried google which isn't helping much.
would Fresno Pacific University be one?
A: Small colleges don't have medical schools. A pediatrics degree comes from a medical school.
Fresno Pacific University is a university, not a small college. (It may be small for a university, I don't know.) It doesn't have a medical school; it doesn't have a pediatrics program. See for yourself: http://www.fresno.edu/academics/
The College Board has the best search engine for finding colleges and universities by major, location and other criteria: http://www.collegeboard.com/student/csearch/index.html
