Q: My little sister is an aspiring author. Where can she get a scholarship for college?
She likes to write stories, long and short. I have found some websites for general college scholarships, but I'm looking for a scholarship tailored to her interest in writing. Know of any? thanks!
A: Different scholarships have different requirements. There is definitely a program that will fit her needs. Also check out grants, low interest student loans and work study programs. Good Luck.
Q: What 5k time is good enough to get a college scholarship?
I run about an 18:00 5K in cross country as a freshman guy in high school. What time do I need to shave down to so that I may have an opportunity to run cross country or track in college with college scholarships available, preferably for a division one school? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
A: You need to be at least 16:30 to walk on the xc team. To get a scholarship, I would say you need to be around all-state times (at least 16:00)
Q: How do I apply for a college scholarship?
I'm 16 years old and I've been looking for scholarships to apply to. How do I do this? I can't talk to my concelor becuase she's never at school. I'm scared that I might not go to college.

Q: Can you spend a college scholarship on a car?
I have a scholarship for up to 30,000 dollars, but I may be able to afford my college tuition anyways, and I want to know if I can use this scholarship to buy a used car. Not all of it, but about 10,000 dollars or so. Can anyone help??
A: Depends on how the scholarship is dispersed. For instance, some will basically hand you a check with that amount and you can spend it how you please. For others, the money is sent directly to the school.
Based on the amount, I assume that the scholarship is dispersed in the latter way and is sent directly to your school.
Q: Where can I find a college scholarship?
I can not afford college on my own. I am currently looking for some sort of scholarship in hopes of reaching my dream to attend a 4 year university next year. My grades are not anything special a 2.6 at a college prep highschool and a 20 on the ACT. I'm looking for something more non-academic. Any help would be great!
A: fastweb.com
Q: Can I get a college Scholarship if i have a famous relative?
Basically im wanting to know if there are any college scholarships out there for people who are related to Andrew Carnegie. I am a distant relative of his, on my mothers side of the family. I know he was known for being extremely generous and dontated most of his money to helping higher education and such. Ive tried searching on the net, but havent come up with any resluts.
A: Go to fastweb.com. That site lists all sorts of "weird" scholarships. Things like "left-handed Jewish violin players from Nebraska with only 3 toes" . The amounts might not be much, but there a lot of them that go begging because nobody knows about them. My son and his friends each averaged 5-6 scholarships or grants per year using this site. Biggest any of then got was about $500.00, but all those little $100 and $200 grants added up. Kept me from having to pay for his five years as an undergraduate and four years doing graduate work.
NOTE: This is a free site. No fees, no asking for personal information. Type in something like "5th cousin of Andrew, twice removed" or whatever the relationship was, and see what comes up. Type in other stuff also. Basically, go fishing and see what you catch

How Hard is it to get a in college scholarship?...What do you have to do to be looked at for a in college scholarship?
A: In order to get an ROTC scholorship, you have to be among the best of your JROTC in high school. Work hard and get good grades!
Q: what type of price discrimination is college scholarship aid?
price discrimination has three types, first degree, second degree and third degree. so which type of price discrimination is college scholarship?
A: I'd call scholarships an "opportunity" not discrimination.
Q: what is the best high school sport that you can get a college scholarship for golf or volleyball?
I would be starting in my sophmore year and i need to find out which sport would be better to raise my chances in getting college scholarships.
A: I would recommend entering both sets of statistics into the NCAA database. Divisions 1 and 2 have the athletic scholarships. I recommend contacting the coaches at the individual schools that you become interested in as you search for colleges to attend and let them know you are interested in them. Also get involved in the AAU teams because scouts sometimes go to these games. Good grades and SAT scores will mean that you can compete in your freshman year. I have included some links for further reading on the subject.
Q: Is it possible for me to get a college scholarship for baseball and make it to the MLB?
Im 14 and I'm on my JV baseball team for my high school and im on a travel team outside of school. If i give up basketball in the winter and work on baseball all year round is it possible for me to get a college scholarship and make it to the MLB. By the way im a catcher.
A: its possible for every one that has the drive and work ethic...if you have talent and a good attitude you can def go places...you dont have to give up basketball either in alot of ways basketball will help you with baseball with all the running and sprints basketball can help you...plus your only 14 you got alot of time
Q: How can I get a 100% college scholarship?
I leave in Africa and I would like to get a college scholarship in a foreign country, preferably USA. I want to know how to achieve this.
A: i doubt you will get it! look at your spelling man!
??????live=leave????
you'll fail the SAT test if that goes on!!
sorry for the bad start anyway. that happens with me many times. be careful with such things as they are usually confusing!
right, about scholarships, i dont know!! i am myself in the UK and am trying to get one for the USA!
Q: How do I get a college basketball scholarship?
I am in the 8th grade and in the future I hope to get a college basketball scholarship from a big school or a small school. I am willing to do whatever it takes and I understand that it won't be given to me and I will have to work at it. I need you all to give me steps that I can take to achieve my goal. I have never played on an AAU Team although I do have gameplay experience when I was on my school team in 7th and 8th grade. I also practice on my skills everyday.
A: go to a top prep school....dematha, montrose christian, oak hill, if u do well enough there ull make it, trust me u have to be good in order to get a scholarship. my cousins high school football team won a state championship in texas...very good state for football, and ALL of them were overlooked by big schools. u need to be good, i mean real good to have them coming for u. if u cant afford to go to a private school, try your best at whatever school u go to, u might have a harder chance, but who knows maybe one might hear about u
Q: Do tennis college scholarship is important or becoming a top pro is more important?
I heard that scholarship is to join the school team and what is the benefit ?
Why people talk about scholarship but not about being a pro winning tournaments like US OPEN?
A: People who are not good enough to join the pros can play on the college tour. If you get a scholarship it helps pays for your schooling so you'll have something fall back on when your game isn't so good anymore. The scholoarship route is if you're wanting to get a degree and a job.
Q: I have a college scholarship question?
I graduated in 2006. i went to college like normal kids, but i got really sick and missed a lot of school. they gave me a medical discharge and said that i would just come back as a second semester freshman. we couldnt afford to send me back to school, so i had to drop out completely and just get a job. I got online to check out scholarship options, and it says that the scholarships are available to highschool seniors. Does that mean that I cant get the scholarship? Theres NO WAY i can afford college without scholarships. i need to know if i can even get scholarships, and a few websites? i know about the fafsfa too. THANKS!
A: there are some but its harder to get them because youve been out of school for a while. if worst comes to worst you can always get a federal student loan. thats what happened to me i couldnt get a scholarshp so i got a student loan. and there is always money for students to go to college. the only difference is that you have to pay the money back. But if you do get one ususally you dont pay anything back untl a while after you graduate and you get a low interest rate.
