Q: Does Seattle Central Community College want to make a band of artist?
A: Yes they do! Give them a shout and they will give you more info! Tagger
Q: Can I send a SAT/ACT score to Central Piedmont Community College?
It says on their website that they ask for you to take an accuplacer, but I was wondering if you could just send an SAT/ACT score instead?
A: I did extensive research on this for you but it is looks like a no. But call up the school and find out. On their website they encourage student to speak with a counselor. If you have taken advance courses in math and science, they might waive it for you. If you did exceptionally well on the SAT/.ACT exam, they might waive it as well.

Q: why is the cost of central carolina community colleges so low compared to other states?
In my homestate of Iowa it costs 100 dollars per credit hour, thats 300 for one core class. In north carolina its about 40 per hour ?! Does this reflect the quality of education?
A: I don't think it reflects the quality of education. Each state and college determine costs so it just varies from state to state and school to school

Q: does houston community college have day or night classes?
i need to know before i go on an interview for a job, what are the hours? i cant find out on its site for some reason.....
what do you think of the business program or the central college?
A: Houston Community College has classes in every form you can imagine: Day classes, night classes, weekend classes, "remote" classes, such as classes online, and concentrated "mini-term" classes.

Q: Direction to Houston Community College by bus?
Hello, I'm going to Houston Community College in Southwest Campus in Houston Texas, and I need the bus number to get there. Sorry I can't drive, plus the gas price are well a bit high for my income.
Also, I need the bus number or the metro stop to get to Houston Community College Central campus. I tried planing my trip by using the Metro Trip planning, but it didn't give me the bus number or the direction. Instead it said "We could not recognize the location you have entered"
Please help...I just moved to Texas, and I don't know what bus or train to take. Thank you so much.
Also, do you think there is a car poll for students to get to HCC?
A: You can contact Metro directly at METROLine for Route & Schedule Information at 713-635-4000 and have them answer these questions. I would think that the admissions office at HCC could also tell you this info and about car pooling. Good luck in school!
Q: Would you consider it a demotion to go from a state university program of study to a 2 year community college?
Well here is the thing I am a dropout of the bachelors in business administration program of the University of New Mexico. I am thinking of going back to school now after so many years but this time in an assoicate degree in nursing program. Also I might attend a college like Central New Mexico community college or some medical career institute. Would that be considered a demotion to go from a university to a college of the latter mentioned?
Basically I will be going from the "Harvard of New Mexico" to one of the techy schools.
A: I understand where you are coming from but it doesn't matter if a school is considered the "Harvard of New Mexico" because it cant possibly have all the programs you need to study what you want. Its not a demotion but a switch to a better program.
An associates is better than nothing. And if you want to continue on with a bachelor's you still can with night classes. The more education you have, the better. Go back to school, keep your head up, and good luck.
Q: can you tell me the names of community colleges in central fl.?
A: manatee near englewood
Q: Texas Community College to University of California?
Wow, I dont know how to put this. I really want to start pulling hair out right now...Heres the situation... Barney style
GOAL: Transfer into UC Davis
SITUATION: I'm a California resident in the military finishing a degree with Central Texas College overseas. AAS in Criminal Justice
PROBLEM: I just found out half the classes I have taken dont even trasnfer to Texas State because its a "Technical & Vocational" course. I have 2 and half years to fix this problem... which may seem like a lot of time for a normal person, but theres this little thing called "Stop Loss" which will act like a VERY BIG speed bump for me.
ASSISTANCE: Should I transfer to taking online courses with Coastline Community College (California CC that gives online courses) or try to get a General Studies degree from Central Texas (and hope the general education courses transfer).
What do you suggest, think and why?
I should've clarified... California resident stationed overseas
A: I would transfer to Coastline and maybe even attend there if you can. Not only will you be guaranteed of it transferring to UC Davis - but California CC students get priority transfer admission - you may even qualify for guaranteed admission.
Thanks
Bill
Q: Transfer from university to a community college?
i'm currently attending the university of central florida. i've been in school about a month now & am not enjoying it so far. i find myself depressed, i haven't met anyone (i normally make friends easily) & i miss my friends, boyfriend, family & home. i'm considering transferring from here, which is 2 & a half hours away from home, to a community college 10 minutes from home.
so, i have two questions:
1. does anyone have any advice/experiences in this area?
2. is it possible to transfer from the university to the community college after 1 semester?
thanks. :)
A: Of course you can transfer. And please do, before you get so despondent that you drop out of college altogether.
Contact the community college where you want to attend and ask to speak to an academic adviser. He/she will take care of everything for you.
Q: Hello everybody! I'm a student of Community College in NY. Planing to be a Registered Nurse.?
I'm 22 years old, new immigrant from Central Asia. Now studying in the Community College(Liberal Arts pr.) in Brooklyn and perhaps going to transfer to the nursing program. I'm not a person with a low self-esteem or dependable from others opinion, but my peer's information about how hard is that to get RN license making me feel psychologically vulnerable. Is it true ? Why ? Thank you ! I'll appreciate your time.
A: Nursing school is very different from liberal arts and social studies degrees and even more different than high school. It is very science based and requires that you develop critical thinking skills because in the real world, sick people don't present you with either/or (true/false) or straight forward situations. It's always shades of gray, setting priorites, anticipating potential safety issues & preventing them.
Test questions may be mulitple choice, but at least 2 answers could be correct and you are asked to pick the HIGHEST PRIORITY or the MOST IMPORTANT or what you would do FIRST. My students are always telling me, "I can get it down to two, but then I choose the wrong one!" Nursing faculty respond with "You have to learn to 'think like a nurse'", which, of course, is exactly what they are trying to do. Many times, I work with students and I swear I can hear a "click" and wham! they've got it. That's better than a paycheck for me that week. Others, really struggle through the whole program, but get it enough that they can pass boards and then figure it out when they work every day. Sadly, a few never do.
So, to help answer your question, if you like science and figuring out 'puzzles', that's a plus and it will be easier. If you prefer to be told exactly what to do and how to do it, you'd do fine when learning the tasks the first semester or so, but really struggle after that. That doesn't mean you cant' do it, it just means you'll have to work harder and you'll perceive it as being more difficult than people who like to critically think about things and figure them out for themselves.
All kinds of people can become RNs--that's part of the beauty of it. And we need all kinds. But just as in the rest of life, its easier for some people than others.
If you want to be a RN--GO FOR IT !!! Don't let other people's experience dampen your own. That was them. Give yourself the chance to have your own experience. It's your life. You get to live it.
Q: how do i know if i have to go to a community college first before university??
My current GPA from high school is a 78% which is prob like a c+..... Would i have to go to a community college first how would i know?? or should i just apply for the colleges and see what happens? i was thinking of applying to Florida state university and University of Central Florida (UCF)
Thanks
A: I'm from NYC and hold an associates from a community college...it's probably different there but a C+ average around here pretty much qualifies you for a community college but from there, transfer schools are usually to happy to have you since most students do bring up their average this way. I dont know how florida schools are so you might want to look up what they expect from you. In NYC, a 4 year college accepting an average like that means the school's probably shitty in the first place but again you have to do the research for the colleges. I mean you should probably research these schools ANYWAY to see if these schools will even benefit you. I hope I've been of some help. And I dont know if this is an issue but here prices were a bit cheaper for a two year's tuition so you might want to compare your local college tuitions(unless you get full aid or are fully loaded)
Q: What is the salary for a college instructor in Illinois?
I want to know salaries for instructors in central Illinois such as Lakeland Community College and Parkland.
A: Well I don't know how much the instructors get paid at any of those colleges you mentioned but you can check their site frequently:
http://lakelandcc.edu/administ/humres/hrhome.asp
or this site for salaries what instructors are suppose to get paid in Illinois:

Q: What is the *easiest* community college to go to in San Diego?
I'm moving to San Diego in May, and will have enough units to transfer to UCSB by Fall of '09, so I'm not looking for the best community college per say, but the one in the SD area with generally the easiest classes because I'll be taking a huge amount of units for the next 3 semesters and wanted to go to absolute easiest route.
I know some community colleges are considered *better*, but I need *easier*. I've been going to Cuesta College in the Central Coast, and it's supposedly one of the best community colleges in California, but I need *easy* because of the huge workload I'll be taking on so I can transfer quickly.
Thanks!
A: Try San Diego City College, and Southwestern. Mesa has hard teachers. Always try www.ratmyprofessor.com
