Q: What California Colleges/Universities do you recommend?
I'm planning to major in business; most likely in management or international business. which colleges do you recommend?
(I prefer colleges/universities close in Southern CA / LA county.)
A: UCBerkeleyis no 1, USC is good but expensive, UCLA, SDSU, Pepperdine is awesome for International business but a little expensive. My advice to you is attend a community college first that is cheap, and getb your business prerequisites first from, then Transfer. Most importantly, when you go to to a community college, don't focus on getting your associates rather than getting your preQ coursework done. See what transfers to your prospective choice and get done with it.
Q: does anyone know a website where i can get a list of what the gpa is to get into california colleges?
i would like a list because i want to know what gpa i have to get, inorder for me to get into a california college.
thanks
A: These are for the UC's: http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/admissions/undergrad_adm/selecting/camp_profiles.html
(Click on each school on the left-hand side)
Q: what accredited California colleges offer classes online/distance learning?
I was going to attend Axia college/University of Phoenix, but since I heard such bad things about the college and how employers won't take me seriously, I have no idea where to go now.
I want to get my bachelor's in business administration or accounting, anything secretary related and such.
A: The nice people at CalState system put up a search tool for you. http://odp.csusuccess.org/odp_finder
UC system was nice enough to do the same. http://www.cvc.edu/students/courses
If you're going to do it online, why does it matter where the school is? You can take courses at Harvard and Oxford online (and UC-Berkeley) if you want to. The really nice thing about online learning is that you aren't bound by where you are.
The online program search tool at Petersons.com is very useful for this sort of search. http://www.petersons.com/distancelearning/code/search.asp
Colleges are adding online programs all the time though - sometimes you find the best programs by searching the web of schools that you like and seeing what they offer.
UC-Berkeley does an online certificate in accounting for example that is VERY well respected (and very hard). http://www.unex.berkeley.edu/cert/accounton.html
Q: Is Stanford (or any old California colleges for that matter) earthquake safe?
In light of the recent earthquake here, I would like to know if Stanford and other California are earthquake safe. Stanford was established in 1891, so would the oldest buildings (the quad) be safe ina powerful earthquake? If not, should they work to fix up these old structures? I mean, Stanford's endwoment is definatly large engouh to do so.
Wow I misspelled "enough." How sad is that. :p
A: all buildings in california are built to modern earthquake spceifications. all houses and business are wood structures, even the concrete and steel skyscrapers in downtown L.A are built to withstand a strong(to some extent) earthquake.
Q: anyone know the minimum GPA to be accepted into california colleges?
i kinda want to go into film/media studies. i know UC berkeley has it- whatre the requirements for there nd what other colleges have it?
right now ive got about a 3.5
A: The University of California system requires a minimum 3.0 GPA, but UC Berkeley specifically will need a much higher GPA than that. The California State University system has a minimum of a 2.0 GPA. Also Berkeley's media studies major used to be called mass communications. Most other universities have this major under the mass communications name.

Does anyone know any colleges in California that offer Doctor of Pharmacy programs?

Loma Linda http://www.llu.edu
California Northstate http://www.californiacollegeofpharmacy.org
Q: Are There Any Community Colleges In Hanford California?
I'd like to know if there are any junior colleges or universities in or near the city of Hanford, California. Thank you very much!
A: College of Sequoias (community college)
Chapman University
Q: Do California community colleges need volunteer instructors?
I retired recently. With a PhD in engineering and few years of teachng experience, I am thinking to be a volunteer teacher in local community colleges. Math, physics, Chinese and ESL are subjects I feel qualified right away.
A: I should they'd jump at the chance to have someone with your qualifications at no cost whatsoever. There may be a teacher's union that sees you as a threat. Call a college pres and ask to talk with him or her about this. If it were I making the decision, I'd give you a job in a heartbeat.
Q: Best California colleges (and why) for an undergraduate creative writing major?
Either creative writing or English with a concentration in creative writing. I know of some colleges that offer this, but how do I know which programs are strong?
A: I know UC Irvine has a famous and well respected English department. Other than the sciences, it's really the only other field people know UCI for. I checked and they have an emphasis in creative writing.
