Within the U.S. what is the best city and college to go to school for ART? This including quality of school and community support of such endeavors.

Q: What is the best college to major in ancient history?
I want to be a historian that specializes in ancient/medieval history and I want the name and website of the best college that would have classes for this major.

A: Depending on how far you want to go with it, here is a website that shows masters and doctorate degrees in history, just find the one element that you want to go with. http://www.historians.org/projects/cge/PhD/StateMap.cfm Most of the schools that offer doctorates in ancient history have the same professors that teach undergraduate. There are a lot of schools that teach medieval, just find the topic, and this website looks at other countries as well. good luck, and yay for studying history:) There are 31 schools that have programs in Medieval and that is at the broadest sense. Those are both in the US and Canada.

Q: What is the best way to advertise to future college graduates?
I am curious as to what is the best way of advertising cars to future college graduates in the Minneapolis, MN area. This will be for a major dealership. I am just looking for unique or new ways to get the message across while abiding the rules of each individual college campus. One example of what may be done is placing ads in restrooms that are popular with the college crowd. If anyone has any input that would be great. Thanks.

A: Drive around town just before graduation day with the car and an ad or show up with the other vendors on college move in day.

Q: What are the best extra curriculars for college applications?
What extra curriculars look best on college applications? Please only answer if you know for sure. What did you put on yours? What college did you get into?

A: The college admission committee would like to see someone involved in: sport/s, community service activities, musical instrument/s, and other clubs or organizations of interest. They are looking mostly for leadership capabilities so they would also like to see that you hold a leadership position in the latter activities. I got this information from a college preparation program that was in my country before I applied to schools here in the U.S. Unfortunately, I started this program in my senior year and didn't have time to pursue all these activities before applying to college. I was a part of numerous community service projects, I did karate for 2 years, I was a prefect(a campus leader) I was a member of other clubs and organizations and took part in a few speech competitions. After applying to 8 schools, I got into my top two favorites, Macalester College and Holy Cross, both with very generous financial aid offers. I think it would be best for you to pursue activities that you love so that it will make it that much easier for you to excel at them and hold a leadership position. As for friends of mine who did all those activities previously mentioned, they got accepted to almost all their schools: Princeton, Harvey Mudd, University of Chicago, Wesleyan University, Pomona, Macalester, Vassar, Amherst, Williams...just to mention a few. Hope this helps and that you get into the right school(for you) when the time comes!

Q: What would be best to wear for my college graduation ceremony?
My ceremony is in May, actually the end of May. It will be indoors because the weather is unpredicatable where I am at. The color of the cap and gown are blue. This is very important to me that I dress my best because I am the first in my family to complete college. It is just a community college, but non-the-less, it's important.

A: I think you should wear a cute crisp short cotton sundress. A white or a pastel color would go nicely with the blue and be much cooler when you get outside in the sun! Unless you are living in the upper most area of the US, you will be very warm surrounded by all the people and the excitement of the ceremony! The robe may seem light, but you'll be surprised how warm you'll get in a large room under the lights. Don't forget to pull the front point of the cap way down on your forehead. They are mortar boards, not rocket ships! Also... there is not such a thing as "just a community college"! You've done well! Be proud! Who knows what you will accomplish next! Good Luck with your future goals!

Q: What is the best community college to go to to get into USC?
Im in high school right now and im a sophomore and my GPA is proably a 3.0. I want to know which community college is best to go to to transfer into USC.

A: Since you are only a sophomore in HS, I strongly suggest that you start working hard now and raise that 3.0 GPA. Then you can just go directly to USC out of HS and skip the community college step. If you really want to go to USC via transfer from community college, go a good community college. (like the college that is suggested in the other answers)

Q: What is the best fashion college to go if you want to be an interior designer?
After I get out of high school I really want to go into interior design. What is the best college to go to if you want to become an interior designer? But I don't want it just to be interior designing cause I want to keep my options open if I decide to do something else and I plan to get a business degree ,too. Big demands I know got any suggestions.

A: I would suggest saving your money on college. Interior design is not really something you have to get a degree in. Why don't you find a designer who will allow you to be an apprentice? You'll learn but save big bucks by not going to college.

Q: What it the best way to determine what college you should apply for?
I am soon going to be applying to four year colleges and university as a transfer student. What is the best way for me to go about start my college search? Should I go visit the colleges that I am thinking about applying to? As anybody ever applied to a college without visiting the college first?

A: I applied to several colleges without visiting, and then went to check it out while waiting for the decision. Although, if you're transferring, chances are the atmosphere is probably more important to you. I would visit the ones you're interested in first, and apply based on the gut feeling you get when being there. See if you can meet with professors in the field you want, visit or sit in on classes, even stay for a night. Really feel where you're going, make sure it's where you want to be for the next few years. Research online to see what schools have programs that you're interested in, contact the departments to see if they'll meet with you on a visit, and go from there. Best of luck! :)

Q: What is the best business major in college?

Also, what is the best major if I want to become a financial advisor, but want to leave a broadened spectrum of business opportunities after college.

A: yep sports management is really good.

Q: what is the best colledge plan to use wen going to japan for college?
i live in the US i plan to go to japan for college and i want to know the best way to save up money for a college there. the college im planning to go to is tokyo u. or kyotoor an art school. also do would they offer scholarships to go there? i mean lik would they ofer scholarships to foreigners?

A: The Japanese Ministry of Education does offer scholarships to foreigners proficient in Japanese to some degree to attend public universities in Japan, even for undergraduates. However, you're going to have to go through a one-year course in a preparatory school doing Japanese language and other school subjects in Japanese as preparation, since Japanese public universities do not have English courses as a rule, with almost all courses taught entirely in Japanese. The University of Tokyo is more than Harvard. If there is the Ivy League in the U.S., the University of Tokyo and Kyoto University combined make up the Eastern and Western branches of the entire 'Ivy League' of Japan. To make it into the University as a foreigner on the MEXT scheme is extremely difficult and can be considered to be an extremely prestigious achievement. I am not into prejudice, but if I were to take the way with which you phrased your question (sans capitalizations and with terrible spelling), then I would say that you don't deserve to go to the University of Tokyo. The same goes for Kyoto. Both schools train the elite of Japan, be it in the academic, political, economic or social circles in general. They are not schools for random foreigners who just feel like tasting a bit of Japanese culture while they're still young - they're for serious youngsters who work very hard, and who have lots of talent to start with. But if you're aiming for an art school, then the Monbukagakusho (the MEXT) will not fund your studies. You'll have to pay your own way, and unless I am very much mistaken there isn't a single art school that teaches in English. Further information on costs in Japan: taking 1 US dollar to be roughly equal to 100 yen (the US dollar's extremely weak now), here are the costs: Living expenses (12 months' worth) 12 x 1,500 = 18,000USD Living expenses (4 years' worth) 4 x 18,000 = 72,000USD Tuition fees (excluding exam, entrance and membership fees) at a PUBLIC school 4 x 5358 = 21,432 USD (for a 4-year course) Average fees at a PRIVATE school 4 x 11,000 = 44,000 USD (for a 4-year course) So either way you're looking at over 100,000USD over 4 years, which is cheap compared to the U.S. Under the MEXT scheme, you'll probably spend none of your own money if you live thriftily. Of course, part time work that pays usually 10USD an hour or so in Japan can be a good source of income. Do note that legally speaking you'll be allowed to work only 28 hours a week. Good luck deciding.

Q: What is the best way to research college loans?

Q: What is the best laptop for a college student?
I am wondering which laptops are best for college students. I want a laptop about $1000. I need A LOT of storage space that can handle and itunes account with over 5000 songs and a lot of photos.

A: Yeah I'm a big fan of MacBooks. Apple is great with students and most colleges have discount programs with them. Last year I got a free iPod Touch, printer, and three year service plan when I ordered through my college. The service is great too. My hard drive crashed and I had a new one installed 4 days after I took it in for free. I'm pretty sure MacBooks come with a minimum 200 GB hard drive which should be plenty of space for everything you need. I have 15,000 songs on mine (~80 GB) and I still have room for all of my programs and documents
